Svana Helen Björnsdóttir
Mrs. Svana Helen Björnsdóttir is the president of the Association of Chartered Engineers in Iceland, a visiting researcher and about to defend her doctoral thesis in systems engineering.
Mrs. Björnsdóttir is the founder of STIKI - Information Security in 1992 and worked there as a CEO until the merger with Klappir Green Solutions in 2019. She worked as a managing director at KGS until April 2020 when she joined Reykjavik University.
During her career, Mrs. Björnsdóttir has also served on the boards of numerous companies, associations and institutions and has extensive experience in the management and operation of international organizations. She was the chairman of the Federation of Iceland Industries, a board member of the Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise, chairman of the Association of Start-up Companies in Iceland, chairman of Men&Mice, board member of Landsnet – Iceland National Grid, member of the Reykjavik University Council, board member of the Data Protection Authorities in Iceland, and a board member of HAGAR, a leading retailer in the Icelandic market.
Mrs. Björnsdóttir is now the president of the Association of Charted Engineers in Iceland, executive board member of the Engineers Europe, advisory board member of Association of Nordic Engineers (ANE), deputy chairman of SL General Pension Fund, a member of Seltjarnarnes town council, a board member of SORPA Waste Municipal Association and chairman of Seltjarnarnes Utility (Veitur).
