Dr. Markus Haider
Prof. Dr. Markus Haider joined TU Wien in December 2006, after a 13-year industrial career in the energy industry (France, Germany, USA).
After studying mechanical engineering at TU Wien he wrote his PhD on the topic of circulating fluidized bed technology. He then joined CNIM group, a leading French provider of turnkey industrial solutions, where he held several technical management positions in the fields of fluidized bed technology, waste incineration ad industrial boiler technology. After 10 years in CNIM, he joined GE Energy in Belfort, France where he managed proposals for combined cycle power plants.
His current research focus at TU Wien is on energy storage (thermal and thermochemical storage, Carnot Batteries), sCO2 power cycles, renewable energy (CSP and biomass) electrolysis and decarbonisation of waste to energy plants.
