Helga Jóhanna Bjarnadóttir

Helga Jóhanna Bjarnadóttir holds an MSc in chemical engineering and has 31 years of extensive experience as an engineer and project manager, contributing to Icelandic, Nordic, and EU projects. Her expertise lies primarily in environmental management, environmental impact assessment, environmental due diligence, occupational health and safety management, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), climate issues, solid waste management, and contaminated soil assessment. She also offers consultancy services on sustainability in building projects. Helga has served as an instructor and examiner at the University of Iceland and Reykjavík and currently serves as a board member for Icelandic Standards (IST), the Icelandic Wetland Fund, and the ruling committee for Environment and Natural Resources. She currently holds the position of Director of EFLA's Community Department.
